Picture of the Week: Campfire at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

There are some pictures that you think could be good when you see the preview on the back of the camera, then there are those that you look at, squeal a little bit, and run directly to your computer to start working on it.

This week’s picture of the week is one of the latter.

I’m wrapping up a stay at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek and was out looking for good pictures last night.  The area around the fire pit was empty, so I put my camera dangerously close to the fire and shot this one.  I love it!  It’s definitely a portfolio piece and I couldn’t be happier!

For the photographers: This one was a doozy to process in post.  1.3 second exposure at f4, ISO 100, at 16mm on my 16-35mm which was attached to my Sony a7rII.  Did all sorts of wacky things in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Nik Color Efex Pro 4 to get everything just right.
