There are some pictures that you think could be good when you see the preview on the back of the camera, then there are those that you look at, squeal a little bit, and run directly to your computer to start working on it.

This week’s picture of the week is one of the latter.

I’m wrapping up a stay at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek and was out looking for good pictures last night.  The area around the fire pit was empty, so I put my camera dangerously close to the fire and shot this one.  I love it!  It’s definitely a portfolio piece and I couldn’t be happier!

For the photographers: This one was a doozy to process in post.  1.3 second exposure at f4, ISO 100, at 16mm on my 16-35mm which was attached to my Sony a7rII.  Did all sorts of wacky things in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Nik Color Efex Pro 4 to get everything just right.
