American has announced new service from LAX to a variety of domestic destinations!  Included in the announcement was American’s commitment to building two new gates at LAX in order to accommodate the additional frequencies.  Many of these routes will be made possible by the completion of the new Gate 4 to TBIT connector that is near completion at LAX.  Anyway, onto the flights!

New sponsorship with The Hollywood Reporter

American is now the official airline of The Hollywood Reporter, the leading industry magazine in the entertainment industry.  This will elevate American’s profile among Hollywood elite (in addition to arrangements like their Flagship VIP service at LAX) and provide them with naming opportunities on THR’s legendary parties around film festivals and award ceremonies.

I was wrong about Hong Kong

So basically it looks like my prediction of a new Hong Kong flight from LAX was, well, wrong.  It doesn’t mean it won’t happen, it just wasn’t announced today, I’m still of the opinion it will be announced very soon.

Fact Sheet

American put together a snazzy fact sheet with a bunch of cool information about its impact on the Los Angeles area here.

What do you think about the new domestic flights?  How mad are you that Hong Kong wasn’t announced today?
