Dallas was in the news last night for the most unfortunate reason: gunmen opened fire on Dallas police officers who were providing security for a protest against police violence.
I have no doubt you have already heard about the event, and also the events that initially prompted the protests, so I won’t recount any of the events, plenty of people who have done it better than I possibly could.
I set up my camera and a light this morning and just starting talking into the camera. I don’t know if it was more for me than for anyone else, but I wanted to share it with you either way.
My prayers continue to go out to all those affected not only by the events of last night but for all of these recent events that have made the news so uncomfortable to watch lately. Let’s take care of each other out there.
Andy, I’m a Dallas native and I was in elementary school when President Kennedy was assassinated. I remember the pain and unanswered questions that we were feeling as a city then, and I’m feeling it now, even though I presently live in another state. I agree, you can’t make sense of evil and as you suggest, we can reach out to others and show kindness to counter it. My prayers are with the families and those in Blue who have been touched by this tragedy.
