This week I’ve been sharing little posts with my five favorite pictures from certain areas. Today we conclude that little post series with: my five favorite pictures from the USA. I’m an American and I love my country, over the past few years as I’ve begun to take photography more and more seriously I’ve enjoyed looking at my country from that perspective. America isn’t perfect by any stretch but it has some truly world-class sites, so let’s get to it!
My Amazing Day Trip to Zion National Park
Most people would take a day trip to Zion National Park in Utah on their way through the American Southwest, maybe on their way to Bryce National Park or even Antelope Canyon in Arizona. I’m kind of insane, so my day trip was a little different. At 6am in Dallas I found a decent deal on a nonstop flight to Las Vegas that left at 9am Dallas time and returned at 6am the next morning (long-time readers are now rolling their eyes because they know what’s coming next). I thought to myself, “well why not?” and booked the flight, having no idea what I would do for a day in Vegas.
I went to Zion National Park after a wedding in Vegas last year and remembered that it was not too far of a drive from Las Vegas so I decided to return. But just for a few hours, then I’d have to turn around and get back to Vegas to catch my flight back home. If I had time I wanted to hike to Angel’s Landing again, so that was the plan.

Picture of the Week: Angel’s Landing at Zion National Park
Picture of the Week is back! Yesterday I did a day trip from Dallas to the top of Angel’s Landing at Zion National Park. For most people that’s not exactly a day trip but I’m an idiot and thought I could do it! Thankfully I made it up and back safely and made my redeye flight back to Dallas with literally minutes to spare.
This picture will look similar to one that I shared from last year’s hike, but I’m still proud of it! Last year I was going probably out of my station a bit in attempting the hike, I was out of shape and had a few beers at a buddy’s wedding in Vegas the night before. This year the hike was still difficult but I made it up the trail in much better condition than last time.
