In my efforts to bring you all more video content (although I still have no idea whether you’re enjoying it or not :/  leave comments!) I picked up the new DJI Osmo last week.  The Osmo is a 3-axis stabilized gimbal with a 4K video and still camera on it.  They also have some higher-quality cameras available.  If you’ve seen the DJI Inspire 1 drone, the standard camera is the exact same camera and gimbal that the drone has.

What it means is some really smooth footage without having to make great efforts either while filming or in post-production.  Here’s what the camera part looks like (there’s a little joystick I used to make the camera look left and right):

Walking around NYC today to play with my new DJI Osmo!

Most of the video stuff I want to do for you is shots from where I am and where I’m traveling if I think it’ll be of interest to you.  The previous way I had of stabilizing is using a very cumbersome (and very conspicuous) Glidecam, which is cool but I’m not very good at it yet.

The Osmo takes all the guesswork out of stabilization while providing a good quality HD image.  In low light it’s not quite as good but as you can see in the below video the footage is excellent when you have plenty of light!  (be sure to watch in HD or 4K)

What do you think?  Let me know in the comments!
